*This ancient healing art involves intercessory prayer while laying on hands guided by the energy/nerve centers of the body through which energy flows, similar to acupressure, acupuncture, healing touch, and therapeutic touch taught in nursing schools across the country. It complements other forms of treatment in a growing number of medical facilities around the world. Rediscovered by Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese Christian teacher in the early 1900s, Reiki is a Japanese word that means universal life force energy. Imbalances in your energy flow may cause illness, stress, pain or simply a difficult day. By balancing your energy flow, your own body is better able to deal with challenges to the body, mind and spirit that may arise in your daily life.
For intercessory prayer using the Usui Method, a person wears loose comfortable clothing. In a quiet atmosphere with gentle music, this non-intrusive hands-on healing involves the placing of the practitioner’s hand with little or no pressure on or above the energy/nerve centers of the body located on your head, shoulders, back, chest, stomach and limbs. Results often include deep relaxation, a sense of calm or deep sleep. Rev. Reece considers the Usui Method of Natural Healing, or Reiki, one important part of a profound prayer experience and apprenticed for 18 months to become a Traditional Reiki Master Teacher.
